We design the lighting on the same plan as the patio and planting, then run the wire before the stone goes down. Every fixture is low-voltage LED on a zoned transformer with an astronomical timer, so the lights follow sunset through the year without anyone touching a switch.
What's in the scope
- Path and step lights placed where feet go, not in a runway line
- Uplights on trees, with the aim set at night on a second visit
- Wall wash and seat-wall lights built into the stone
- Zoned low-voltage transformers with astronomical timers
- Phone control on the transformer if you want it
- Retrofit of an existing garden without trenching the lawn
Questions people ask
Can you light a garden that is already planted?
Yes. We pull wire under the mulch and bore under paths. Most retrofits are done without lifting the lawn.
Do the lights need to be switched on?
No. The timer reads sunset for your location, so the zones come on and go off on their own. You can change scenes on the transformer or the app.
What happens when a fixture fails?
Care-plan visits check every fixture and re-aim trees as they grow. Warranty terms are set by the owner and written in the contract.
